1. For cases where space is limited, bevel impression as shown to produce larger area for pin holes. |
2. Pour up impression with die-stone of choice (not refractory material). |
3. Remove model from impression, trim and drill holes in bottom of model using pin-dexing machine. Allow for adequate spacing between pins. | |||||

| 4. Try pins in to assure there is adequate spacing. Pins may touch as long as they are fully seated. If any pins overlap, redrill holes to properly align. | 5. Mandibular pins have male parts that are offset for rotating their placement in an overlapping pattern. Their triangular shape should alternate. | 6. Apply stone separator of choice and allow to dry. | |||||

| 7. Place 1 drop of uni-bond on pins and fully seat on model. Allow 10 minutes to dry. | 8. Place sleeves on pins, making sure they are fully seated. A portion of the pin will remain exposed. To insure accuracy, sleeves should not be touching. | 9. Place in appropriately sized base former and pour up with basing stone. Make sure stone has adequately infiltrated space between sleeves and the portion of pin still exposed by the fully seated sleeves. | |||||

| 10. When dry, the base stone should cleanly cover the top of sleeves in a smooth funnel shape. Do not remove this stone. It is there to insure accurate seating. | 11. After pulling pinned model from base, separate individual dies and trim. | 12. Trim individual dies all the way to the edge of pin. Do not leave a shoulder. The funnel shape of pins will match the funnel impression in base for an accurate and stable fit. | |||||

| 13. IMPORTANT! Steam clean pins. To avoid contamination, do not reinsert pins into sleeves prior to duplicating. | 14. Place individual dies in duplicating flask. Make sure the dies do not touch the clear flask. If any do, adjust the angle of die while maintaining a snug fit. | 15. Mix equal amounts of uni-sil base and catalyst slowly to avoid bubbles and pour in flask from a height of 30cm. Allow to set for 20 minutes. | |||||

| 16. Remove silicone ring from flask and pins from silicone ring. | 17. After mixing refractory material, back load the syringe. | 18. Insert plunger. | |||||

| 19. Insert tip of syringe to depth of cavity and begin expressing refractory material while rotating tip in a circular motion. Continue expressing material as you remove tip. | 20. Wipe off excess material. | 21a. After appropriate setting time, pull dies from mold. To grip die, push out from bottom and grab from top. Silicone is very flexible. | |||||

| 21b. Pull die out and away from center of ring. Do not rock from side to side. | 22. An alternative technique would be to blow the dies loose with compressed air. Caution, they will rapidly launch from ring. | 23. Trim off funnel shaped ends with a separating disc. | |||||

| 24. Place refractory dies on firing tray and degas per manufacturer's instructions. | 25. Place distilled water into the reservoir of the organizer. This will allow refractory dies to remain properly humidified for porcelain application. | 26. Original die and refractory die are now interchangeable on same base. | |||||
